The First Thankful Thursday of 2011

Counting to one thousand gifts, I’m thankful for the year 2010. Here’s to highlighting some special memories:

91) My son, Zach, passing his Second Degree Black Belt test. A true test in perseverance. See He Fought His Own Battle.

92) Sadie Mae survived pancreatitis and several days in doggy hospital, after eating rib bones all night.

93) My nieces wedding and the fun that ensued.

94) A husband who likes to cook and helps do laundry when I’m in a bind. (Sadie would do it all over again if she could).

95) A family and extended family who enjoys worshipping our Savior in our home.

96) Spring time and a special day driving through the countryside and playing in the wildflowers with my honey.

97) Family time and spiritual renewal at Pine Cove Family Camp.

98) 17 years of marriage, and a long weekend of fun, with my best friend and my love.

99) Renewing my enjoyment of photography (still catching Sadie Mae in the process).

100) A day of rock climbing and photo ops!

101) Homeowners insurance that pays for water damage restoration from broken water heater.

102) Restoration company insurance that pays for them to replace the floor again (next week as a matter-of-fact) because of a manufacturer defect.

103) Middle School football and the Grans coming to cheer.

104) Some of the special women in my life without whom I would laugh less and cry more.

105) Our yearly Christmas Tree Farm tradition with my brother’s family.

106) Raising funds to work with these kids in the summer of 2011

107) The Edwards’ adoption. “He predestined us to be adopted as his sons [and daughters] through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.” Ephesians 1:5

108) Hudson’s 12th birthday (Sadie is still hopin’ and praying’ for food fall out).

109) A special Christmas Day, especially with my Grandma Elsa on her last day with us. She was like a child being silly with puppy dog slippers.

110) Grandma Elsa’s Great-Grandkids who played Amazing Grace at her Memorial Service. They are practicing here.

110) New Years celebration and fun.

The same crazy boys at the wedding. This time they are remembering the tongue on the light pole scene in the movie "A Christmas Story"

Happy New Year!
